Fruity and Healthy Desserts for Kids

Fruity and Healthy Desserts for Kids

Nov 16

You can never go wrong with fruits. They’re sweet, colorful, can be cut in different shapes thus attracting children to consume them. That is why parents must learn to take advantage of this fact and use fruits for desserts instead of offering your kid commercially made sugary products. Offering them sweets once in a while is a part of being a kid, but make sure that what you offer is healthy and tasty also.

  • Mixed Skewered Fruits with Sauce

Fruit skewers are fun and easy to eat. You can try making mixed fruits in a single stick or make each stick with bananas, pineapples, strawberries, kiwis and add some red grapes on it. Refrigerate the fruit skewers and brush them with lemon yogurt or lime juice before serving them.

  • Colorful Mixed Fruit Salad

Making a fruit salad is always fun and easy and you can encourage your kids to help you in preparing it. Choose a variety of colorful fruits like strawberries, bananas, mango, blueberries, grapes and nectarines and cover it in a special sauce made of orange juice, honey and nutmeg. You can also opt for a simple sauce like condensed milk and some whipped cream and serve it chilled.

  • Apple Fruit Crisps

The scent of apples in the oven is enough to make children drool over them. Slice apples in different shapes and mix them with raisins and some walnuts in a baking dish. Make a special sauce of orange zest, honey and cinnamon and mix them, pour on top of the apples and heat for 30 minutes.

Healthy desserts are fun to make and children will love them for sure. Think of alternative healthy ways to teach children to eat right by offering them natural but delicious products.
